State of the District 2019

More than 150 were in attendance for the 11th annual State of the District Address, presented by Dr. Chrys Sweeting, Superintendent.

A tour of Post Middle School preceded the program. Dr. Sweeting then provided a report on the state of the district in relation to meeting the goals outlined in the district’s Strategic Plan: Student Learning and Achievement; Safe and Caring Environment; Resource Stewardship; and Parent and Community Partnerships.

Arlington High School Culinary Arts students prepared and served delicious parfaits and coffee; Air Force JROTC Cadets presented the flags and led the Pledge of Allegiance; Kent Prairie Elementary's Choir on Fire entertained us with four numbers; and six middle school students from Haller and Post Middle Schools participated in a Student Panel answering questions from Dr. Sweeting. The students were asked 1) What is working well? 2) What improvements should be made? and 3) Do you have suggestions for us?

Thank you to all of the parents, staff, community members and School Board members who attended. A special thank you to all who helped to make the evening a success! We hope to see you next year!
