Dr. Chrys Sweeting
Superintendent
My passion and priority as an educational leader is to remove barriers and increase access to learning for EACH student.
I
earned a Bachelor's Degree from Central Washington University and a
Master's and Doctorate in Leadership for Learning from the University of
Washington.
My service in public education stretches over 40 years and has been in a
variety of positions, including teacher assistant, teacher, curriculum
specialist, assistant principal, principal, special services executive
director, and assistant superintendent prior to becoming the proud
superintendent for Arlington Public Schools.
Engaging all stakeholders is paramount to supporting student success. My
commitment to foster and nurture an authentic partnership between our
schools, homes, and the Arlington community is unwavering.
I've been married to my husband, Dave, a retired special education
teacher, for 50 years. We both grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
Together, we raised six children - five sons and one daughter. We also love and have lots of fun with our seven grandchildren.
