Members of the Public School Employees of Washington (PSE) voted to approve a contract with Arlington Public Schools. This bargaining agreement updates many language items and provides a 4.1% raise for the 2026-27 school year that will keep our classified employees competitive with surrounding districts. It is a three-year agreement that provides for negotiation of wages prior to the second year of the contract. This is a three-year contract which expires Aug. 31, 2029.

"Our classified employees are essential to the success and daily operation of our district,” said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “They serve in critical roles throughout our schools, providing the services, care, safety, and expertise our students and school community depend on every day. We are grateful an agreement was reached that recognizes the important work and contributions of our classified professionals."

PSE President Nanci Johnson said, “We are excited to announce the successful completion of a new 2026–2029 contract for Arlington School District Classified Staff! A huge congratulations and thank you to our bargaining team for the time, dedication, collaboration, and hard work they put into bringing forward an amazing agreement for our members. This contract reflects countless hours of preparation, thoughtful conversations, and a commitment to supporting and recognizing the incredible work our classified staff do every day. We also appreciate the district’s bargaining team who worked toward an agreement that supports our staff and our schools. Strong teams. Strong voices. Stronger together. Classified strong!"

The Arlington School Board approved the agreement on Sept. 14, 2026.
