AHS Roof

A portion of the Arlington High School roof is being replaced this summer. Due to the size of the building and the short two-month period within which construction activities can occur, a portion of the roof will be replaced this summer and the second portion will be replaced in Summer 2027.

Contractors started a phased removal of sections of the roof on June 22. The roof replacement this summer will include the Commons, E Wing, athletic complex fieldhouse, ticket booths, grandstand, and visitor's bleachers. The work includes removing and replacing existing roofing materials with new roofing and making roof decking repairs as needed (does not apply to Stadium grandstand and bleachers). It also includes replacing gutters and defective downspouts on the main high school building, fieldhouse, ticket booths, stadium grandstand and bleachers.

Please note that parts of the AHS campus will be inaccessible at times this summer, including the main entrance to the school. This is due to debris that may fall while the roofing work is underway. There is clear signage at the school indicating areas that are accessible and inaccessible during the construction. We ask that visitors stay in the marked accessible areas for their own safety.

The work is scheduled to be substantially completed by Aug. 28 before the start of school. This project is being funded by the 2024 Capital Levy.
