Cascade Valley Hospital

Thirty-five students from Arlington and Weston High Schools toured Cascade Valley Hospital on March 11 to learn more about careers in healthcare. This is the first time Arlington students have toured the hospital.

Nicole Watts, manager of acute and critical care at Cascade Valley, led one of the tours of the hospital. She said the healthcare workforce has declined and there’s a need for workers in all areas of healthcare.

“Our goal for this tour was to introduce the students to all the different careers that are available to them in healthcare,” said Watts.

After students toured the hospital, they participated in different stations on blood typing, imaging, respiratory therapy, sterile processing, and Stop the Bleed. Various staff members also talked with the students about their different jobs.

“A career in healthcare really appealed to me after taking a sports medicine class at Arlington High School,” said Arlington High School student Holland Nobach.

“I was excited to go on the tour to learn more about all the jobs that are available in the medical field,” said Weston High School student Sydney Larson.
