On Friday, Dec. 5, Arlington Public Schools hosted its first “On-the-Spot” college admissions event with Washington State University. The WSU admissions team met individually with Arlington High School seniors and provided immediate admission decisions. Eight students were admitted during the event.
Two of those newly admitted students, Layla Li and Tatiana Carrillo Parra, are pictured celebrating their acceptance.
"This new approach brings colleges directly to students, removing barriers and giving seniors real-time clarity about their next steps after graduation," said Director of College & Career Readiness Brian Long.
Arlington High School will welcome Western Washington University for the next On-the-Spot Admissions event on Dec. 12. Around 12 students are already registered, with room for more.
More On-the-Spot opportunities with additional institutions will roll out later in the year as Arlington continues expanding post-secondary pathways for students.
