Community partner helps beautify Arlington elementary school
Pioneer Clean UpNearly 100 community members from Arlington Assembly of God church spent Sunday, Aug. 12 helping to clean Pioneer Elementary School. The members pulled weeds, trimmed hedges and plants, laid new bark, painted fire lines, and striped the parking lot.

“This was part of our ‘Community Serve Day’ and we shortened our Sunday morning service to rally together to serve our community,” said Taunya Sanchez, Children’s Director at Arlington Assembly. “We believe in impacting our community and making a difference.”

“One of the goals of our strategic plan is Parent and Community Partnerships,” said Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “Our custodians and grounds crews work really hard to keep our school buildings operating and looking nice, but it’s great when a community partner can give a school that extra attention. We appreciate great partners like Arlington Assembly!”
