Kent Prairie Elementary students decorated valentine cards today which were given to veterans at Cascade Valley Senior Living. U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene, who represents Washington’s First District including Arlington, visited with the students. The Valentines for Vets Program provides an opportunity for students to make a connection with local veterans.
“It was nice talking with the students to let them know what the veterans have done for us,” said Rep. DelBene.
One valentine that caught the congresswoman’s eye was made by third grader Lincoln Schumsky. It was a letter made in braille. The letter was delivered to a visually impaired veteran at the senior living center.
“Thanks to all veterans for their service,” said Schumsky.
