Arlington schools plan to fully reopen in the fall
ReopeningThe Arlington Public Schools Board of Directors voted on May 10 at its regular board meeting to fully reopen all schools in Arlington for five days of instruction by the fall for the 2021-22 school year.

“Throughout the pandemic, we have followed a six-step reopening plan to safely reopen our schools for our students and staff,” said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “This action moves us into Step 6 in the fall where full time in-person instruction will be available to all students five days per week. We will continue to offer the Arlington Online Program for those families who prefer a distance learning model of instruction.”

Most Arlington students are currently learning onsite with in-person instruction two days per week and participating in a distance learning model three days per week.

“We are looking at what plans and resources are needed to safely reopen,” said Dr. Sweeting. “We are excited to bring all students back to campus in September.”

The 2021-22 school year starts on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
