Arlington Education Association reaches three-year agreement with Arlington Public Schools
Combined LogoMembers of the Arlington Education Association (AEA) voted on Aug. 31 to approve a three-year contract with Arlington Public Schools. The agreement calls for salary increases of 2.5% in 2021-22, 2% plus the Implicit Price Deflator (IPD) in 2022-23, and 3% plus IPD in 2023-24. Other language items were also agreed to during the negotiations.

“Thanks to both the AEA and district bargaining teams for their hard work in reaching an agreement,” said Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting. “We are very happy to greet students back to class for in-person instruction.”

“Our members voted with 99% approval for this agreement with the district.
We are excited to reach this agreement after months of negotiations,” said Jason Klein, AEA President. “We are looking forward to welcoming the students on Sept. 8 for the start of the school year.”

The Arlington School Board will consider approval of the agreement on Sept. 13.
