Welcome to Mrs. Vaughn's Web Page

Every child brings gifts and talents to the classroom. As a teacher, my job is to intentionally search out these gifts and help each child know he or she has much of value to contribute to this world.

This site is interactive where students can practice what they have learned in school.  Please click on the appropriate navigation bar on the side.

In the book The Global Achievement Gap, Tony Wagner states that there are seven survival skills that students need to be successful in college and in the workplace of the 21st Century. The fourth survival skill is initiative and entrepreneurialism. "Leaders today want to see individuals take more initiative and even be entrepreneurial in terms of the ways they seek out new opportunities, ideas, and strategies for improvement." In an effort to help students develop these skills, I will attach a schedule of skills and activities that students are working on every day. If a child is absent, he or she can practice taking the initiative to make up what he or she has missed. Students should also check Family Access to ensure that there are no missing assessments or assignments.
