Assessment Each spring, Washington State students are assessed in reading, writing, math and science. Students in grades 3-8 take the Measurement of Student Progress (MSP), and 10th grade students take the High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE) in reading and writing. Students in Algebra, Geometry and Biology take the End of Course (EOC) exam. For more information on state testing, please visit the Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program. In addition to the state assessments, Arlington Public Schools assesses students in all grades for screening, diagnostics, progress monitoring and benchmarking. The District Assessment Map is a listing of all the assessments given to students throughout the school year.
