In this semester long course students will demonstrate teamwork while they practice safe and sanitary work habits as we cook our way through a variety of food labs, culminating in the highly anticipated cake contest.
A minimum of one home cooking assignment will be assigned, requiring students to prepare and serve a complete meal, including clean up.

Students will also use basic sewing skills to make an intermediate project, and will have the opportunity to create more advanced projects if desired.

In addition, students will:

  • Describe personal values and their relationship to goal setting and decision making.
  • Differentiate between wants and needs.
  • Explain the role of resources in decision making.
  • Know the steps of the decision making process.

These skills will be learned and demonstrated through classroom and home assignments, projects and activities. It is my goal that students leave with skills that they can apply in all areas of life.
