Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Apply online @ http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

File electronically, online. It is fast, calculations are  performed automatically, online help is available, edits are  built in to notify you of potential errors before the application  is processed, and for your protection software encryption is  enabled to protect personal information. Also, you will need  to file the FAFSA every year your student is in college - you  must renew online! You can pick up the 2011/2012 FAFSA worksheet in the career center to help you prepare to complete the FAFSA online. 

FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid)for the 2012-2013 school year. File FAFSA on January 1, or as soon as possible thereafter, if you do not have taxes done, estimate.  When taxes are complete go back and modify the FAFSA.
