Swine Flu 2009

Update Thursday, May 28 2009 - 2:30pm
We are seeing a slight increase in student absences due to flu-like illness that is circulating locally. Snohomish Health District advises us that the exclusion recommendation for H1N1-symptomatic students and staff is still: Stay home for 7 days from onset of influenza symptoms (fever, sore throat, cough); if after 7 days you still have symptoms, stay at home until symptoms are gone for 24 hours. Other symptoms can include runny nose, body aches, vomiting, and diarrhea.

We can most effectively safeguard the health of our students by adhering to this policy and thank you for your cooperation and support.

At each school our staff is monitoring student absences and illnesses'. Staff members will maintain contact with the Snohomish Health District for the latest, most accurate information and we work closely with the Health Department on all health related procedures.

Please remember to call your school if your child is absent for any reason.  Also it's a good time to remind your family to cover coughs and wash hands regularly.
