
Welcome to Health Services
The Arlington School District has one registered nurse who provides a wide range of health services to the 9 schools. AHS, Post MS, Haller MS, Eagle Creek, Presidents, Pioneer, and Kent Prairie have LPNs full time for 6 hours a day. These nurses work in their respective buildings five days per week with additional time spent working on special projects.
The responsibilities of the nurses within the district include:

The Registered nurse develops emergency care plans for students with life-threatening health conditions such as severe allergies to peanuts or bee stings, severe asthma, seizure disorders, heart and congenital conditions or diabetic students with insulin reactions.

The Registered nurse oversees staff administering medications to students and care for ill or injured students in the school setting.

The Registered nurse is responsible for the health assessment of students being evaluated to receive special education services through the Arlington School District.

School nurses are responsible for organizing and reporting state-mandated vision, hearing, and scoliosis screening.

School nurses are alert to any possible communicable disease outbreaks in the school setting and work closely with the Snohomish Health District.

School nurses serve as a liason between the school, the home, and medical or other community resources.

School nurses provide health education to students, staff and family.

Classified school nurses are responsible for close management of diabetic students in the school setting.
The Arlington School District nurse has current Registered Nurse license and training in First Aid and CPR, in addition each School nurse is required to have current First Aid and CPR training.
