The Arlington High School Booster Club Recognition Award was born in 2005. It is one of the many ways the AHS Booster Club supports the global high school community in its pursuit of excellence in Activites, Academics, Arts and Athletics.The Recognition Award was conceived as a means to recognize an individual on faculty or staff who: (1) embodies spirit, respect, enthusiasm (2) has a positive outlook and who (3) impacts students, parents, faculty, staff and administration every day. The first recipient of the AHS Booster Club Recognition Award (2005) was Dena Cave, Ambassador at Arlington High School. Dena was awarded an honorary key to the front doors of AHS, and a Tiffany's key ring, to commemorate her award. Our 2006 recipient was athletic secretary Liz Reis who was awarded a $100 dollar gift certificate to Nike. John Grabowski, director of instrumental music, received the 2007 award and a $100.00 gift certificate to Hugo Helmer. Nick Brown, coach and teacher extraordinaire, was the recipient of the 2008 award and a $100 gift certificate to Nike. In 2009, Chorale Director, Lyle Forde, received a $100 Mastercard in recognition of his musical instruction, creative talents, and his years of entertaining the Arlington community. Connie Vezzani, Copy Center & Attendance Office Staff Member, received the 2010 Recognition Award and $100 Cash for her ever-present smile and excellent attitude. |
