Answers
1)  Q Is transportation provided outside my childs elementary or middle school attendance area?
A

No, transportation is only provided within the attendance area of your child's school.

2)  Q Is transportation provided for out-of-district students?
A

Transportation is provided to out-of-district students registered in Arlington schools on a space available basis and generally only at existing bus stops.

3)  Q I need my children transported to their grandparent's home or a daycare in the afternoon. Is there a bus that they can ride?
A

Students needing transportation to a different bus stop in the afternoon will need a bus pass issued by their school. Parents must contact their child's school to request a bus pass. The student will give the bus pass to the bus driver. Students without bus passes will not be transported to any bus stop other than their own. Parents may request a permanent bus pass for their child. This bus pass will honored for the remainder of the current school year.

IMPORTANT: Students will only be transported on existing routes to existing stops within their school's attendance area on a space available basis. Bus passes need to be arranged before the end of the school day. Your child's school may have additional rules about issuing bus passes.

4)  Q Does my family live in the Arlington School District?
A

The best source for school district boundary information can be found on the Snohomish County web site from two sources.

1. The Snohomish County Auditor's office has an interactive map. Once the map has been opened and loaded, scroll down and click the box labeled "School Districts" near the bottom.  The user can then use the "zoom" and "move" functions to locate a property.  The map also features street numbers and aerial photos.

2. Taxing district information is also available by parcel using the Snohomish County Assesors Property Information web site at: http://web5.co.snohomish.wa.us/propsys/asr-tr-propinq/  Users enter their house number and street name only.  For example, for an address on 67th Ave NE; enter the house number and "67th".  When the parcel is located, click on "View Taxing District".  A window will open a listing all taxing districts (including school districts) for that parcel.

5)  Q Which school will my child attend?
A

6)  Q It is my child's first day attending Arlington Schools, I want to drive them to school in the morning and have them ride the bus home. Is this OK?
A

We strongly recommend that your child's first day on the bus begin with riding to school on the bus in the morning. This helps the driver understand which bus stop is your child's stop so that they can be returned to the same stop in the afternoon. Even middle or high school aged students get confused about where they live or which bus services their stop if their first time on the bus is in the afternoon.
